Finals Week Hours

The Wingspan will offer a limited number of writing consultations May 6-10th during finals week. Due to demand, we recommend making appointments in advance. Drop-ins may also be available this week, but not guaranteed. Come by the Wingspan: Center for Learning and Writing Support's front desk to check on drop-in availability.

We will offer writing consultations during the following hours:

• Monday-Thursday: 9 am - 5 pm
• Friday: 9 am - 12 pm

Spring 2024 Writing Consultations

Dates & Times

Spring writing consultations will be available January 22, 2024 to May 2, 2024. Limited Finals Week consultations will be available May 6-10th. Appointment times will be announced closer to finals. 

The Center for Learning & Writing Support is open for writing consultations during the regular academic semester when classes are in session. When classes are not in session for breaks, or if classes are canceled due to inclement weather, consultations will not be offered.

Locations

Writing Consultations are available in the Center for Learning & Writing Support at the Lawrence Campus in Anschutz Library, room 424, or online.  

Currently the KU Writing Center does not offer face-to-face appointments at Edwards Campus. For students who are primarily affiliated with Edwards Campus, we recommend making a real-time online videoconferencing appointment or an eTutoring (written feedback) appointment.

KU Edwards Campus students are also welcomed to visit our Anschutz Library location on the Lawrence Campus for face-to-face writing consultations. We strongly encourage students to book appointments in advance to make sure that they will be able to meet with a consultant when they arrive in Lawrence. 

Drop-in Consulting

In addition to appointments, which are available for consulting both in-person and online, we offer drop-in consulting in-person. If you can't get an appointment, the times don't work with your schedule, or you just have a short question, we will have designated drop-in consultation times this semester for undergraduate students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 pm and Wednesdays from 1-3 pm. These will take place in Anschutz Library on the 4th floor in the Center for Learning & Writing Support's annex outside the reading room.

Graduate students may use drop-in consulting on Fridays from 10 am - 4 pm during Fridays on Fourth in Watson Library graduate student lounge on the 4th floor.

You may also come by Center for Learning & Writing Support in Anschutz Library 424 at any time during our open hours to see if a consultant is available, though we cannot guarantee an appointment. 

Sunday Support

This semester we will have occasional Sunday writing consultations as well! These will only be on a few Sundays during the semester, around the time many large assignments are due. Sunday hours will be 2-6 pm, and we will still have the same in-person and virtual options as the rest of the week.
